I was in my home town and saw a house I grew up in. The house in real life has been torn down after a flood in 1997. In my dream the house was still standing, just the porch was torn off. I opened the front door and saw my grandmother sitting in a rocking chair. She was dead. In real life she died in 1999.
Dreams about childhood homes often symbolize memories, nostalgia, and the past. The fact that the house in your dream was still standing but damaged may indicate a feeling of something from your past still being present but altered or changed in some way. The missing porch could represent feelings of vulnerability or exposure. Seeing your deceased grandmother in the rocking chair could symbolize your longing for her presence and guidance. It may also suggest that you are seeking comfort or wisdom from her, especially during a time of change or uncertainty in your life. Overall, this dream may be highlighting the importance of your past, family connections, and the need for support and guidance during challenging times. It could be a reminder to reflect on your roots, memories, and the wisdom of those who have passed on.
